How do I make my dogs get along?! Pls read the details. ?

I've been married for a year and my wife and I each had a dog before we got married (still do) A Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd. After we got married we got another dog.....a Great dane. The Retriever is 5 and so is the shepherd. The shepherd is a trained gaurd dog and is out in the yard most of the time hence not friendly to strangers and other dogs. The Retriever is very friendly to people and all other dogs and does not have a territory problem with any dog. The Great Dane was 3 months old when we got him and grew up with the Retriever so there's no problem there. We once tried to face the Retriever and the Shepherd. We put a muzzle on the Shepherd and yet all hell broke loose! The shepherd managed to sink his teeth into the Retriever through the openings of the muzzle and the Retriever ended up with stiches in 2 different parts of his body!!!
