How to stop dog from barking ?

My dog is 5 and since she was a puppy she has been barking at the mailmanor anyone she doesn't know coming up to the house. I don't know what happened but just a couple of weeks ago we have started getting annoyed. She runs back and forth between each window and scrathes the wood flooring. She is a 60 pound black lab-border collie that wheighs 60 pounds. i have tryed picking her up but she just figgits until she comes back down. Today, a couple of men that were giving out flyers came to the door and i put on her collar and made her walk to another room with me. She layed on the ground and started shaking like crazy. I think she might be scared but it is really worrying me that she shakes alot.
