I have a new puppy and while training during the day is going well, its the night training that is hard?

Is there any way that I can regulate her potty training during the night so she won't want to go out at night or even have an accident. Can I take her water away early in the evening or will that make her dehydrate?

Do not feed your puppy close to bedtime and take away his water before you go to bed (don't forget to put it back first thing in the morning). You'll need to set your alarm clock to go off once and possibly twice throughout the night.


This is an important step, just take your puppy out to the toilet area as usual and then hop back into bed. When your puppy is young it is physically impossible for him to hold on all night, but before long you will both be sleeping peacefully right through the night.

nikkic 		What i think you should do is that make her drink alot of water (for a puppy) and put her where you want her to go to the bathroom until she actualy goes in that spot, everytime she does give her a treat. you CANT do training without treats lol.

mary123 		If you train her to sleep in a crate at night, she will be more likely to wait til morning. You can limit her food and water intake in the evenings just be sure she has free access to water for the day.
