There's lots of info and help available at http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/spt

I recommend crate training and teaching the pup to potty outside from the very beginning. This requires LOTS of supervision and trips outside. Take him out every time he wakes up, eats, plays, and about every 1-2 hours in between at a minimum.

I don't consider puppies to have the mind/body awareness needed for real house training until they are at least 12 weeks old (longer for the toy breeds), so until then his success at being clean in the house is completely up to you. Be sure to praise him sincerely for every successful outdoor elimination. Don't remark on any indoor mistakes. Just clean them up with an enzymatic cleaner (like Nature's Miracle) to remove all traces of odor.

Patience and persistence really pay off when potty training.
